"The Bass Player" was inspired by a busker in a public park. He was trying to touch the public with his music, using his senses of sound and sight to communicate without words. His joy was to play, and he wanted to share that joy. It's a lonely moment to be entertaining alone, but he would catch someone's eye, and they shared a moment before the stranger walked by.
