Bio
Artist and sculptor, Born in New Jersey, raised in Florida, and based in Carlsbad, CA since 2001. My father was a wood worker, and my mother excelled at painting and crafts, so we always had plenty of art materials around. My parents encouraged me to take art classes and attend college, and later I traveled to many places around the world to study art, such as Japan, France, Greece, Mexico, Canada and around the USA.

StatementMy work uses color and texture to create a imaginary wonderland that touches on my search for meaning, connection and place.
I work with clay, glaze, metal, canvas, paint, paper, books, tiles, cement, prints and photos. By using finger marks in the clay or paint, and layers and layers of glaze, paint, paper or found materials, I create a richly complex surface in my ceramics, paintings and books.
Ranging in size from 7 inches to 7 feet, my work has a magic realism feeling, inspired by my love of both contemporary art, fairy tales and ancient art. Myths and dream imagery have been a recurring theme in much of my work. By combining contemporary references with stories from the past, I'm exploring the nature of being human.
