This piece is made of Mango wood, with a Curved Poplar Dowel on Avocado Base with Brass Rods. The Mango wood piece was a cut off from another sculpture. The live edge was reduced to a smooth finish, then the piece of Mango was coated with a non-yellowing Polyurethane, as was the curved piece of Poplar dowel. The base was a chunk of Avocado wood. All of the pieces retain their natural color by the use of the finish. The curved dowel is under tension, as well as being curved due to its natural state. The brass rods were used to suggest a musical instrument, the fourth in a series based on musical instruments.
